Apostolos Labanaris, MD, PhD

Dr. Labanaris is a distinguished Urological Surgeon and a Certified Robotic Surgeon, know for his expertise and innovation in the field of urology. He earned his PhD from Friedrich University – Alexander Universität in Erlangen, Nürnberg, Germany. Currently serving as a Partner at the European Interbalkan Medical Center in Thessaloniki, Dr. Lampanaris has made significant contributions to the field through his extensive training and clinical experience. Dr. Labanaris underwent specialized training in Urology in Germany, where he later pursued advanced training in robotic surgery. His commitment to excellence led him to earn a PhD from Friedrich – Alexander Universität in Erlangen, Nürnberg, Germany, further solidifying his expertise in the field. Previously, Dr. Labanaris served as the Curator and later as the Deputy Director of the Urology Clinic Prostatazentrum at Nordwest St. Antonius Hospital in Gronau, Germany. In 2012, he assumed the role of Scientific Director at the European Robotic Institute (ERI) in Germany, where he also served as a Urological Ultrasound Trainer for the German Society of Ultrasound (DEGUM) and a Robotic Surgery Trainer for ERI. With a surgical career spanning years, Dr. Labanaris has performed over 3,500 surgeries, with a remarkable focus on robotic procedures, totaling 1,500 robotic surgeries. His contributions extend beyond the operating room, with 67 publications to his name and active involvement as a reviewer in international urological journals. Dr. Labanaris is a sought-after speaker, having been invited to share his expertise at over 250 events both domestically and internationally. His dedication and groundbreaking work have earned him 12 awards abroad, underscoring his commitment to advancing the field of urology.
