Andreas Andreou, MD, PhD

Dr. Andreou embarked on his journey in medicine at the prestigious Université Necker – Paris V in France, where he pursued his studies in Medicine. He then delved into the realm of surgery, specializing in General Surgery, Urology, Urodynamics, and Laparoscopy, earning accolades and the title of doctor at renowned medical institutions such as Hôpital Universitaire de Rouen and Hôpital Foch – Paris V. As a urological surgeon, Dr. Andreou developed a keen interest in laparoscopic surgery, commencing his specialization in this field in the year 2000. His dedication and expertise were recognized with a University Diploma in Laparoscopy from the University of Strasbourg, France. Driven by a quest for innovation, he began his training in robotic surgery in 2001, becoming a certified Da Vinci Robotic surgeon from Intuitive Surgical USA. Dr. Andreou, further honed his skills at renowned centers for laparoscopic and robotic surgery for prostate cancer, including Foch Hospital, Bordeaux, Montsouris, Creteil in France, and the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Center in New York, under the guidance of esteemed professors such as Pr Botto, Dr Gaston, Pr Vallancien, Pr Abbou, Guillauneau, and Scardino. Throughout his career, Dr. Andreou remained at the forefront of innovation, mastering cutting-edge techniques for the treatment of prostate cancer. He trained in and performed treatments for Prostate Cancer with HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) in 2005, and specialized in laser procedures for prostate hyperplasia (Green light) and lithiasis (Holmium) in the same year. His expertise and contributions were further showcased during his tenure as a member of the Transplant Group at Foch Hospital in Paris from 2006 to 2009. Dr. Andreou also served as a qualified urologist with the title Chef de Clinique at the University Urology Clinics of Rouen and Foch Hospital in Paris, where he performed over 1,600 operations, focusing particularly on complex cases with a primary emphasis on laparoscopic techniques. Dr. Andreou's dedication to advancing medical science and providing exceptional patient care led him to achieve several milestones, including performing the first robotic inguinal lymphadenectomy operation in Europe for the treatment of locally advanced penile cancer and the first robotic operation in Thessaloniki for localized prostate cancer at European Interbalkan Medical Center. He has shared his expertise and insights as an expert participant in numerous international and Greek medical conferences, contributing to research papers, international publications, and presentations, solidifying his reputation as a leader in the field of urology and robotic surgery.
